Editorial Note
I desgined this after accompanying my daughter's class on a field trip to the Statue of Liberty. I suppose I'd say I'm a fourth generation immigrant – back then, folks from Europe just showed up, no permission required, and got to work. The classic way to become an American. I don't think it should matter whether you're arriving from Poland or Venezuela.
