Each summer, the “Big Dipper”, or common eastern firefly, puts on one of nature’s greatest light shows across North America. Using the “lanterns” on their abdomens, males flash yellow-green while flying and dipping low in a unique “J” shape, and females flash a response.
A delight for those who love glow-in-the-dark goodies, the fireflies' abdomens and the stars above both glow green in the dark. Copper metal, shimmery translucent blue enamel, double posts, and a smooth epoxy topcoat give this pin a substantial, keepsake feel.
Originally from the June 2021 Bug Box. Unnumbered soft enamel pin on kraft backer.
