Inspired by the celebrated 1902 Duchess of Marlborough Egg, also known as the Pink Serpent Egg, this elegant musical design reflects one of the most distinctive jeweled clock eggs of the early 20th century. The historic original was commissioned by Consuelo Vanderbilt, Duchess of Marlborough, during her 1902 visit to St. Petersburg, becoming the only large egg of its kind created for an American patron.

The original masterpiece, crafted in the workshop of master workman Michael Perchin, featured luminous pink guilloché enamel, pearl accents, and a diamond-set serpent that gracefully indicated the hour on a rotating dial. Designed in the style of a Louis XVI vase on a pedestal, it was inspired by the earlier Blue Serpent Clock and adorned with delicate garlands and the diamond-set initials “CM” beneath a crown.

Echoing that refined aesthetic, this richly enameled interpretation showcases ornate gold-tone detailing, sparkling crystal accents, and a stately pedestal base. The egg opens to reveal a charming interior while playing a beloved classical melody, blending decorative artistry with musical delight. Presented in a padded satin lined gift box, it captures the romance, elegance, and grandeur associated with the golden age of jeweled art objects.
